CFO Services TodayWhat changes if today is already past the tenth
The work does not collapse because the tenth already went by. The promise moves. It does not turn into a lecture.
See what moves
The work does not collapse because the tenth already went by. The promise moves. It does not turn into a lecture.
See what movesPast the middle, or past the tenth itself, the close for this month becomes a list of leftovers. What did not get tied is named. What can wait is marked as waiting. The next tenth is the new promise, said out loud, so you are not carrying a vague soon.
Nothing on that list is a moral score. A month slips because a job landed, because a statement was late, because someone was out. The books do not need a confession. They need the next date.
What does change is which decisions we will make on top of an open month. We will not price a hire off numbers that do not match the bank. We will not send a lender a package from a month that is still moving. Those waits are the grown up version of speed.
We can still gather the statements, still list the open items, still set a provider up for payday if that work is separate from the close, and still put a thirteen week sketch on paper with the gaps labeled as gaps. The sketch says where it is guessing. That honesty is the product in a late month.
A trade show fills and empties on a calendar that does not care about your tenth. A show week is a fine reason a close slipped. It is a poor reason to pretend the slip did not happen. The next tenth is how the show week stays a show week, and the pile from that week gets a name instead of a shrug. Write that name on the list.
Estimates and the federal filing dates do not move just because our cadence did. If a real agency date is inside the gap, we name it and we work to that date first. The tenth is ours. A day an agency already printed keeps its own authority, and our tenth does not borrow it. We will not confuse them to make a sentence sound like a threat.
Which dates are real What an early month looks like Starting clean on the next tenth
We look at what is actually in the file, not at a template. A shop with one bank and a short stack may be ready on the coming tenth. A shop with three years open will hear a longer repair and a first tenth that covers a defined slice, not the whole history.
You leave the call with one date. If we cannot give you one, we say what is missing before a date would be honest. That is the change from a page that only describes the happy month.
Write the slip down in one line. What was supposed to be tied, what actually got tied, and the date of the next tenth. A show week can sit in that line without becoming the story of the whole year. The owner who can point at the line stops carrying the month in their head, which is why a cadence still matters after the day has passed. The next tenth is a date you can say out loud, and the leftovers are already named.
A week, a month, or several. The next promise depends on it.
You will be talking to the Steven Palmieri practice.
